  • Instructors train with supervisors and skiers who are certified to further improve our skills consistently.
  • Some of the skills I teach as I instruct will include the following: Putting on boots and skis correctly, stopping safely, skiing with parallel skis, turning properly, riding the magic carpet and the chairlift safely, and more.
  • While training, my ski school peers and I prepare to teach skiers at various age levels and experience levels. Throughout the season, I taught students ranging from age 3 at the youngest to over age 50 at the oldest.
  • At the beginning of each work day, I helped my coworkers set up fences, flags, and other objects we need to maintain safe areas for teaching. And at the end of each day, we put away what we had set up and made sure to consistently keep our teaching areas safe.
  • This season, I worked with a lot of children and adolescents, so a huge part of my job involved utilizing good communication skills and creativity to help my students effectively learn and have positive experiences while skiing!
  • I definitely strengthened my communication skills in the ski school, because I taught multiple students from other countries… Sometimes, I taught people who knew either no English or very little English, which inspired me to become a better communicator and continue to learn as much as I can.
  • Instructors train regularly so we can improve our skiing. We teach each other and learn from each other as a team. Throughout our work weeks, higher level instructors would lead training groups.

  • Each day, I scanned the pool for any potentially dangerous situations while on stand.
  • I greeted guests and informed them about the pool and the park.
  • I completed necessary water rescue practices and training to prepare for possible emergencies.
  • Our staff worked as a team to keep our pool facilities clean. While closing, we swept, hosed the bathrooms, replenished toilet paper and paper towels, took out trash, and vacuumed the pool.
  • Each day, we skimmed the pool to keep the water clean, and we checked the pH balance and chlorine amounts in the pool.

Adventure Point Tubing Hill Lead

  • I communicated with guests and my fellow staff to help guests tube safely.
  • I rode the gondola at 6:30 am daily to show up to begin our hill set up with the rest of the leadership team. I helped take out our inflatable tubes, and helped set up the magic carpet, fences, and signage each morning. While maintaining the hill, I used drills to put up fences and signs, and I used snow shovels and ice picks to do snow work.
  • I helped conduct safety meetings to ensure that we used safe practices with equipment and supplies.
  • I filled out logs checking the safety and organization of the magic carpet.
  • I met with our leadership team each morning to keep our team and our priorities organized.
  • I helped set up burlap in the tubing lanes each morning to improve the traction on the hill.
  • I made sure lift dispatch was contacted at the beginning and end of the day.
  • I did snow work to keep the hill and the tubing lanes safe.
  • I worked with our staff in the process of testing the tubing lanes each morning and enforced safe conduct from employees and guests.
  • After the tubing hill season ended, I picked up extra work for a few weeks with Food & Beverage. I worked the front window at LaBonte's Smokehouse BBQ.

  • During weekdays, I worked as a housekeeper to help maintain the cleanliness of accommodations. I cleaned Yurts and small cabins. I would clean the cabins with one other person each time, and sometimes we would split up. We wiped down surfaces, cleaned windows, did dishes, emptied trashes, cleaned floors, and replenished necessities such as toiletries, towels, and blankets.
  • I provided service in the kitchen at the end of weeks, working as a cashier. I prepared pizzas, salads, and crepes. I also poured beer and served wine.
  • I Hosted Kids Camp on Saturday and Sunday. I prepared fun activities and created a comfortable space for guests to do arts and crafts. I did a unique activity each weekend! For example, I rock painted with guests, and near Halloween, I hosted a Halloween themed craft day where I let kids decorate cookies.
