Educational Activities

WACC CEO

  • My junior year of high school I participated in the Whiteside Area Career Center Creating Entrepreneur Opportunities (CEO) class. This required me to travel every day for a 90 minute business class full of 20 junior and senior high school students from surrounding schools. I had the opportunity to learn from guest speakers, participate in business tours, create a business with my class, work with a mentor, write a business plan, and create my own personal business that I showcased at our end of the year trade show. Throughout the year, CEO class allowed me a hands on learning experience that I couldn't have gotten anywhere else, completely reshaping my view on everything from business to day to day activites.

Sauk Academy

  • Currently I am participating in the Sauk Valley Community College Sauk Academy program. Through this educational program I am enrolled as a full-time dual credit student while still being a senior in high school. This has allowed me to further my education and challenge myself to get a head start on my college career while still able to be included in my many high school extracurricular activities.
