Working for Disney was one of my first jobs which I am incredibly grateful for. I learned customer service skills from one of the most successful companies in the hospitality industry. Disney was able to shape me into the determined and outgoing worker I am today. I learned how to multitask while working proficiently, how to connect with our guests to further help understand their needs, and how to problem-solve and de-escalate a stressful situation while remaining calm and collected. These are just a few useful skills I have learned in my program that will shape how I work in future careers. I am incredibly appreciative of my time there and that I was able to be a part of the magic and help make an unforgettable experience for guests, as well as having unique experiences myself.
My work as a caregiver made me more of a kind, compassionate, and patient person as I was working with someone who lived with Alzheimer's and Dementia. Which meant often repeating conversations, having to deal with outbursts, and unexpected mood changes. I also fed her, assisted her to common areas, and made sure she was comfortable at all times. The relationship and companionship we had built is one very dear to me and I am grateful to have gotten to help this person and give them comfort while dealing with such a terrible disease. It has also taught me a lot about how to deal with people with special needs and disabilities which is a skill I used a lot at Disney. It made me a more patient and gentle person so that I could help make an unforgettable experience for everyone.
I was accepted into the Disney College Program, a select internship that only accepts around 20% of its applicants. I completed my college program at the World Of Disney store in Disney Springs. That specific location is also one of the largest Disney stores in the world. After completing a six-month program I chose to extend another six months to stay the maximum amount of time I could stay for. It was a very fast-paced job and had high standards for what was expected of employees. Listed below are some of our responsibilities as cast members.
