During high school, I was part of the Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) cohort, where I learned a variety of skills and computer applications. AOIT is a specialized learning community within Apex High School, designed as a four-year program. It has an open and equitable recruitment process that reflects the school's diverse demographics. However, students must be assigned to Apex High School to apply. Once accepted, students remain with a core group of specially trained teachers throughout their high school years. This model allows teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects that make learning relevant and engaging. Through hands-on, real-world experiences, the Academy exposes students to careers in Information Technology.
