Over the summer, I worked with the engineers at PACIV where I learned all about the ins and outs of control panels. I started out building and wiring the panels in the shop to gain a better understanding of panel components and how they work. After about a month in the shop, I moved to the office where I began learning ladder logic to program the PLCs inside of the control panels. During this month, I improved my understanding of programming and ladder logic specifically as well as visited lots of job sites to assist our engineers in troubleshooting or learn more about how our work connects to the real on-site application.
Throughout the second semester of my senior year, I worked as a door to door salesman as a way to gain communication skills. I ended up being the top performer of the month every single month I was there! Going into door knocking I was nervous about approaching people and being able to communicate effectively. But, over the course of being at Elite Pro Painting, I gained that confidence and became an effective speaker.
