  • Led cross-functional campus Leadership & Empowerment Team in activities to impact the culture of belonging for THE Mesquite HS for students, teachers, and community. Held 2 successful evening Movie Nights (coordinated with 2 feeder MS on one) for students and families. Hosted a wildly successful BINGO Extravaganza for teachers to win prizes for use in their classrooms.
  • Chosen as an AVID Leader on my campus. Trained in AVID principles and worked with other SITE TEAM members to develop and implement the AVID program on THE MHS campus. Coordinated artifact collection from teachers in all departments for campus certification.
  • Substituted for our campus Head AP while she was on medical leave. Performed discipline and handled various duties to help the school run smoothly during her absence.
  • Actively participated in the review and selection of district curriculum materials to align with new TEKS as part of the Instructional Materials Adoption Committee.
  • Coordinated & scheduled teachers & students for Saturday School to handle tardy and other disciplinary consequences as well as recoup of hours.
  • Organized, advertised, and led a team in the highly successful Big Maroon Event - a community wide event for all of SkeeterNation (HS including feeder Elementary and MS). Participants included school clubs & organizations, city depts, community businesses, as well as students, their parents, siblings, teachers, coaches, sponsors, administrators, and other area groups.
  • Championed implementation of Restorative Practices at MHS along with Student Success coordinators. Provided PD for select teachers to implement in their classrooms. TEXRP trained in Restorative Practices.

  • Developed and created an innovative Project Based Learning (PBL) curriculum for Physics and Principles of Technology using skills from my Curriculum & Instruction Master's Degree.

Assignments included AP Physics, GT Physics, Pre-AP Physics, GT Chemistry, 8th grade Social Studies, 8th grade Math, 7th grade English, Bilingual Kindergarten, Bilingual 2nd grade. Between two assignments, taught full time from September 2013-June 2014. Responsible for all lesson plans and class activities.
  • Raised mean scores on Physics CBA (Campus Based Assessment) for 86 students from 67.3% to 811.8% with a 77.9% passing rate and an academically fragile population of %>=80 to 59.1% vs 13.6% previously.
