- Actively recruit a prescribed number of youth each week for entry into the IYIP program (Illinois Youth Investment Program)
- Ability to thoroughly review participant documentation to determine eligibility for the IYIP program
- Conduct daily employer outreach and visit worksites to obtain a quota of at least four new unsubsidized employment agreements each month
- Identify and solicit employers for commitments to fill a prescribed number of WBL and OJT work experience positions
- Identify and solicit colleges for commitments to fill a prescribed number of Adult Basic Education (ABE) training slots with out of school youth
- Place an entire caseload of participants ages 16-24 into long term unsubsidized employment opportunities within specified career clusters
- Attend Workforce Investment Council meetings and hiring events to maximize communications with community agencies, while gaining a detailed understanding of opportunities for high demand sectors of employment
- Establish and maintain a cooperative relationship with local IDHS Family & Community Resource Center (FCRC)
- Coordinate with area school districts to identify individuals that did not complete state graduation education requirements
- Assist youth in attaining their HSE or GED by re-engaging them in the pursuit of a diploma through a local accredited source or online training
- Prepare and administer Job Readiness Training and Skill Assessment Training
- Develop a well formatted and captivating resume for each youth assigned to a caseload
- Assist out of school youth with the attainment of full-time employment
- Provide guidance on Post-Secondary preparation including degree program exploration, college applications, college entry testing, FAFSA etc
- Develop an individualized case plan for each youth in the caseload to overcome specific personal and educational barriers
- Assist individuals with supportive services such as: housing, healthcare, childcare, transportation, legal support, and connection to the community
- Track all job development activities, workshops, placements, employment verification and obtain time sheets of assigned participants
- Maintain weekly/monthly activity and outcome reports as prescribed by the Program Coordinator
- Prepare, submit and present thoroughly generated reports, updates and information to Program Coordinator on a weekly/monthly
- Punctual completion of all reports to meet state and federal reporting requirements
- Maintain an well organized and formatted working file for each assigned participant
- Maintain weekly case notes of participant's employment or educational progress and supportive services provided
- Develop and monitor career plans for each program participant on a daily basis
- Ensure that assigned participants are involved in a minimum amount of education and training activities required by IDHS each week
- Continuous preparation for internal and state audits
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Frequently sitting for extended periods while performing desktop activities
- Maintain good attendance
- Maintain appropriate personal appearance.
