Dedicated Certified Peer Recovery Specialist committed to aiding individuals facing mental illness and addiction. Leverages over 26 years of lived experience to connect with diverse populations, foster resilience, and guide clients toward essential resources. Demonstrates strong advocacy skills with a focus on empathy and cultural competence.
I believe I have the skills and backgrounds to fulfill this role and flourish as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. I do have the ability to obtain certification within a year and I have my AA degree from Howard Community College in Human Services. I welcome the challenge and responsibility of learning this role. My other interests are hiking in local Patapsco state park, gardening, identifying local species of plants, and art. There is a gap in my work history between 2023 and the present because of a head on car collision in which I broke both of my hips and femur and was in a wheelchair for two years. I have since learned to walk and am hiking again.
