Creative Art Teacher possessing in-depth knowledge of various art theories and principles. Engaging and energetic professional certified in grades K-12 and will be licensed in Pennsylvania. Polished in integrating art history, art appreciation and art criticism into all lesson plans and collaborating with classroom teachers to incorporate learning through art. Committed to designing lessons to accommodate broad range of learning styles, cultural backgrounds and encouraging students to reach fullest potential through a variety of tailored methods.
I spent 9 months student teaching and getting field experience at Edinboro Elementary, Mercyhurst Highschool, Strong Vincent Middle School and Jamestown Elementary. During my placements over the semesters, I had experience working with all ages as well as all diversity and backgrounds. In my Jamestown, NY placements I was able to work with inner city students with a lot of diversity. Diversity inclusion is very important to me. At Mercyhurst, I worked with many advanced and gifted students.
I led classes in sculpture, painting, drawing, mixed media, and general art classes with different hands on projects.
In my free time I enjoy learning self development books, hiking with my dog and family, oil painting, yoga, and when I can, I strive to visit new countries and cultures every year. In the past I have volunteered in Haiti after the earthquake and in Bali for a few weeks during a wellness retreat, Dominican Republic, and plan on visiting Italy and Greece for further art education and cultural understanding pursuits. I strongly believe in being a lifelong learner and to follows the passions that fuel your heart.
