My job duties include assisting customers with skincare, hair care and makeup questions. Also applying makeup and suggesting products that could help with their needs. We do accept cash, so I also open and close the register each day. I also have to answer to phone calls, light cleaning and putting away shipment.
I would start with a consultation to figure out what the person wanted and how to achieve the best result. I did a lot of hair coloring, so sometimes I would take hair swatches out to show them the color and make sure we were both on the same page with our ideas. Also maintaining cleanliness and organization of my workstation was important as well. Prior to doing hair, I was a receptionist. I would open the drawer, process payments, and schedule appointments. I trained new receptionists and shampoo girls to show them the best techniques to do their job to the best of their ability.
