City-wide quality improvement initiative for the emergency treatment of exacerbations of chronic pain.  Participated in a city-wide initiative to identify patients that present to any of Madison, Wisconsin’s three major hospitals for the relief of chronic pain. The goal of the initiative was to assist in the management of their pain without the use of narcotics. This data will be used in a future publication to see if identifying this subset of ED patients led to modification of their behavior and a decreased use of the ED for management of chronic pain.
