I am a teacher by nature! I had the honor of working in the classroom for eight years in New England and then brought my love for teaching home when deciding to stay home with my four children. I have had the honor and joy of returning to the classroom as a second grade teacher at Rio Vista Elementary. I have grown to love my students, colleagues, and families. I collaborate effectively with my team, interventionists, ELD teacher, and special education teacher to discuss the needs of my students and plan future instruction for success. It excites me to examine student's performance data and it gives me direction and goals for each student. I create a welcoming classroom where children feel comfortable with taking chances, learning from their mistakes, and willing to challenge themselves. I create instruction that is flexible and meet the needs of all my students while sharing success stories and concerns with parents regularly. I am very much thankful that I have returned to the classroom this year at Rio Vista Elementary.
Created a positive learning environment where students feel safe and supported. Collaborated with my team, Interventionists, ELD teacher, and special education teacher to modify instruction to best meet the needs of my learners. Differentiated my instruction based on individual student needs, strengths, and areas to improve. I continually examine student's data that drives my differentiated instruction. I am an excited learner who understands that education is ever changing and I look forward continuing to take advantage of my next learning opportunity. Established positive and consistent communication with my families with weekly classroom connections, use of Class Dojo, and regular phone conversations that included sharing success stories, progress stories, and constructive conversations related to academics and behaviors.
Collaborated, created, and communicated ways to enhance students' learning while supporting and celebrating Murphy School students, teachers and staff. Created programs to allow parents to feel connected with the school, such as Beautification Day, "Muffins with your Moms" and "Doughnuts with your Dads." Provided opportunities for community partnerships such as Voyage Community Service Day and building a community garden at the school with the help of Holly Hills Farms. Organizing visits from local museums to enrich students' educational experiences. Welcomed and encouraged parents participation to volunteer for events, planning events, as well as sharing their celebrations and concerns. After serving my two years as president, I continued to remain an active participant.

Maintained consistent communication with families through "Hopes and Dreams" conferences, emails, phone calls, and quarterly conferences.
