I recently graduated from Bellaire High School and am beginning my first year at Houston Community College, where I am majoring in Philosophy with plans to attend law school and become an attorney. I have lived in Houston my entire life, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has been one of my favorite traditions since I was born. Every year my family and I look forward to going to the Rodeo. I loved seeing the livestock, walking through the barns, and watching the Rodeo come alive. One of my favorite childhood memories was when Rodeo volunteers brought horses to my elementary school. It made every year exciting and gave me an even greater appreciation for the organization. The Rodeo has always reminded me of my family's ranch in Mexico. Being around the animals and seeing the traditions of agriculture brings back memories of spending time with my family. Seeing everything the Rodeo does for Houston through scholarships, education, agriculture, and community service has inspired me to want to give back. Becoming a member of the Junior Committee would allow me to serve an organization that has been a meaningful part of my life for as long as I can remember.
