Worked the floor as an RN in the Family Birth Center for the last 6 years. Provided exceptional care to a wide variety of patient populations while gaining the trust of countless families under my care. Growth in my ability to advocate for patients and prioritize nursing interventions based on each patient and their individual needs during their labor process. Demonstrated the ability to work and communicate well with the physicians and other members of the healthcare team.

Gained confidence and excelled in taking on the role of charge nurse and supporting coworkers and peers. Learned to maintain organization on the unit and been able to step into multiple roles where ever needed. Responds quickly to situations in working to achieve the best outcomes for staff and patients.

3 month orientation working closely with a preceptor followed by working independently in a fast paced and high acuity setting. Learned to utilize critical thinking skills and prioritize patient needs and the most appropriate nursing interventions. Assessed patients thoroughly and responded to their individual needs during their labor. Documented clearly and administered medications safely. Participated in an evidence based practice project during nurse residency and occasionally worked in the postpartum unit.
