Accomplishments

Worked with the Texas Healthcare and Bioscience Institute to bring the Washington Skill Standards to the state of Texas to be used by community colleges in Texas to produce a biotechnology workforce.

Received numerous federal and state grants focusing on promoting biotechnology education from high school to 2 year to jobs and creating opportunities for students.

Created the ACC Biotechnology Program.

Worked at NSF in the Division of Undergraduate Research as a Program Officer.

Created the ACC Bioscience Incubator through an Emerging Technology Fund grant in the state of Texas.

Participated as a co-PI on the first NSF funded Biotechnology Education Center grant and now is the Executive Director for the next center grant, InnovATEBIO.
