In my 28 years of experience with the Department of Education, I have held positions in English, Enrichment and AIS. I have worked with the ELL population, as well as children at risk. While completing my Masters in Literacy, I completed two case studies which enabled me to use my experience with at-risk students in a one-to-one setting. I later worked with groups of 5-6 using the Plato Program which enabled students to work in their designated area of need.
The last few years, I worked with a team of 4-6 teachers, and we targeted students in need of enrichment. We used data available to us through IReady and IXL to provide reinforcement and challenges in order to help our students succeed academically.
I believe my experience and my passion for teaching will make me an asset in any program or organization focusing on the academic success of students.
