Escort patients to rooms, obtain and record vital signs. Ask appropriate screening questions. Relay pertinent information and any concerns to the provider. Assist provider with procedures, performing exams and treatments. Provide patient education and teaching at the direction of the provider.
Accurately administer medications and vaccinations in accordance to the providers orders
Call patients with results and instructions from provider. Collect information and relay complete, accurate information to provider and return calls to patient with providers instructions. Communicate with patients via mychart and relay information per providers instruction. Maintain accurate documentation of interaction with patients.
Ensure accuracy of information in EMR. Place orders in EMR for providers signature. Update medication list, allergies. Prepare medication refills, ensure accuracy of prescription, alert provide to any discrepancies, labs or office visits that may be due.
Schedule patients for appointments. Obtain insurance referrals and prior authorizations for medication and procedures.
Maintain inventory of and order medications and medical supplies with attention to expiration dates and infection prevention guidelines.
Maintain office equipment and ensure it is safe condition. Notify appropriate department when repairs are needed.
Performs quality assurance and CLIA waived testing as directed. Collect biological specimens and packaged for laboratory transport to complete diagnostic tests. Review temperature and POCT logs for the office. Submit monthly reports to Primary Care and lab as required.
Perform initial training and yearly competency for POCT testing for clinical staff.
Train new office staff and new staff for the clinical float pool to successfully perform clinical duties
Mentor LPN students in the Pipelines and Pathway Program
Support office manager with disciplinary issues regarding clinical staff.
Contribute feedback to office manager for clinical staff annual reviews
Comply with HIPAA, OSHA and JCAHO regulations. Ensure clinical staff is aware and following regulations
Promoted culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting documentation and prevention.
