I have been a 4th and 5th grade teacher for 25 years. I've worked in public education for the entirety of my career and have experience supporting students of many racial and ethnic backgrounds and many English Language Learners. I'm dedicated to helping my students succeed, and I understand the importance of building respectful, trusting relationships with individuals to make that happen.
During my time in Seattle Schools, I've worked at T.T. Minor, Blaine K-8, Louisa Boren STEM K-8, Laurelhurst, and Lafayette. I've gained experience working with diverse student populations, and learned how to create successful relationships with families to support the whole child.
I worked in Guam on a two-year contract that brought stateside teachers to the territory. I worked in the public school system alongside local and stateside educators to bring a quality education to our students. We had a high number of ELL students which gave me valuable experience incorporating best practices for advancing English learners in the general education setting.
