I am a hardworking employee with communication, multitasking and time management abilities. Devoted to giving every student that comes through my room a positive and memorable experience.
Based on my teaching job in Oklahoma, I was hired in Allen to start the first Functional Academics. With no curriculum and a new program, Dr. Bennett, former Special Ed director for the district, and I created and shaped what is now a district-wide class model for children with Intellectual Disabilities.
I started helping with Allen Special Olympics when I began teaching in Allen. At that time, we offered only 2 sports- Bowling and Track and Field and had around 25 athletes. Because I love sports, I wanted our athletes to have as many opportunities as possible. I became head of delegation and started adding sports and events. Today, we offer 14 sports including Unified and we have over 250 athletes registered to play with us.
I began teaching because I love knowing that I can make a difference in someone’s life. “Firsts” for students in my classroom, take a while to come by, but when they happen it monumental and memorable.
