Everyone in IVU coded procedures when I was hired as an IVU tech in 1990.
I really enjoyed this part of my job and I worked with our charge master analyst to update our IVU Charge Master annually.
I was the primary coder for the Interventional Radiology department beginning around 2010.
Once I was offered the IVU Lead job (2018), I was no longer the primary coder for IVU.
I still keep my coding membership up to date, and I do still offer guidance to the MDs and staff that I work with that struggle with some reports.
