Served in many aspects of public child welfare including child protective services and child/family permanency as front-line case manager, supervisor, and manager. Conducted and supervised child abuse/neglect investigations and assessments as well as special investigations. Promoted to team coordinator and program coordinator. Have worked in areas of child placement, policy development, technical assistance, quality improvement/assurance, accreditation, and most currently due process for substantiated perpetrators of child abuse.

Served as Director of Nashville Connection, a comprehensive system of care for children with serious emotional disturbances (SED), and their families. Responsible for the implementation of community-based program and ensuring a full array of mental health, educational, community, and support systems (both formal and informal) in cooperation with grantee partners Centerstone and VIPPS. Assessed potential participants for enrollment, developed family care teams and implemented treatment plans for improved mental health outcomes. Confirmed project compliance with SAMSHA grant guidelines, completed timely reports on overall project goals and worked toward sustainability and expansion measures. Recruited, trained, and supervised both direct service and supervisory staff.

Served as Regional Coordinator, providing leadership for advocacy activities and networking across child serving systems; Conducted state-wide children’s program outcome reviews (CPORT); Participated in managed care funding research (IMPACT Study); Conducted juvenile justice facility visits and monitored compliance with OJJDP regulatory and grant guidelines; Participated in Statewide Data Collection; and Presented strengths and opportunities information on statewide level for public child welfare and public policy with impacts on children and families.
