Summary

Bond Broker Assistant as data entry and support staff on competitive, chaotic trading desks for 20+ years.

I am a fast learner, highly motivated, and a team player; striving to achieve maximum results for the company that I work for, at all times.

Considered a huge asset and most recently, an essential infrastructure support staff employee, having traveled every day of the Pandemic to and from Manhattan. My work ethic is exceptional.

I am excited about the next chapter in my career and can't wait to show this company how I can exceed expectations and how professionally driven I am .

Work History

Assistant Bond Broker

TP ICAP ~ Tullett Prebon
New York, NY
07.2001 - 08.2021
  • Worked on a very active, highly competitive trading floor where I covered 11 brokers who simultaneously shouted out prices that I needed to put into a live screen for trading.
  • Typed hundreds of prices per minute on a live screen that went directly to clients such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Citibank, Bank of America and many more.
  • Booked and posted all trades with buyers, sellers, prices and amounts on an in-house system called Primo.
  • Booked and posted all Credit Default Swap trades in an in-house system called OTC Marker.
  • Amended, corrected and reconciled out-trades for all brokers daily and worked closely with our back office to reconcile any and all issues that clients might have.
  • Worked with client services to setup new accounts; names and all the information needed for clients to have STP (straight through processing), which expedites their trades to them.
  • Interacted with every broker on every live trade to ensure that their count was correct on the amount that they were reporting to their buyer or seller and that they were reporting the correct bonds and prices as well.
  • Executed numerous daily trades on live screen; every client on the street views these screens.
  • Realized daily market prices and spreads; alerted brokers of any errors thus saving the team huge amounts of money
  • Memorized hundreds of line numbers, account numbers and traders names ensuring the fastest input of daily prices and trades.
  • Learned on my own how to book Credit Default Swap trades in OTC marker when it needed to be done manually, before an electronic platform became available. Trained other employees on how to do this.
  • Adapted and excelled over the last 20 years through numerous versions of the latest technology, without interruption of business.
  • Easily able to figure out "work-arounds" when an issue arose or when systems were not generating things properly.
  • Verified and posted details of business transactions such as funds received and disbursed and totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases.

  • Responded and assisted customers with account inquiries and updates.
  • Entered transactions into computer and issued customer receipts.
  • Took on additional shifts during busy periods to minimize staffing shortages.
