I am passionate about women's health, particularly in high-risk obstetrics. I helped develop the role of the Rapid Response Nurse at Winnie Palmer Hospital. As a rapid response nurse, I respond to all medical emergencies. Beginning in October 2024, I started volunteering for the FPQC as an Expert Advisor for the development of their Obstetrical Hemorrhage initiative (OHI 2.0). The opportunity has promoted further growth, with opportunities to serve on multiple interdisciplinary committees. As a rapid response nurse, through proactive rounding, a new passion has emerged: coaching and mentoring less experienced nurses to grow in their careers. As I grow professionally, my passion will always be with the rapid response role. However, a new passion has emerged for developing the next generation of nursing. I am passionate about mentoring and coaching nurses. In October 2021, I earned my Master of Science in Nursing, with a specialization in Nursing Education. Receiving my MSN-Ed has enabled me to share my knowledge and experiences with other nurses, using evidence-based adult learning techniques. I am a lifelong learner in the nursing profession, with a wealth of nursing experience. Continuing at the bedside will enable me to stay relevant to the course content that is being developed. It will allow me to utilize real-life experiences to support the professional growth of newer generations of nurses.
