Accomplishments

During my years as a parent volunteer, I had the opportunity to design and direct a successful, whole school, K thru 6 grade, music education and performance program. I taught 700 students weekly for 8 years, with 2 major concert performances each year. My students thrived in their participation with learning about their many cultures and traditions through singing, dancing, narrating stories connected to their musical experiences.

Following this elementary project, I accepted a leadership role in the Vocal Music Department at the High School, serving on the Board in several capacities for another 10 years. I had the responsibility for overseeing fund raising of over $40,000 per year, and also managing budgets and spending in support of that program.

I also am proud to have worked for ASPECT foundation, placing exchange students in amercan family homes and supervising their family stays.
