IPPW Level Three Credentialed. Energetic Prevention Professional with over 15 years of experience in developing and implementing public health programs. Skilled in resilience training, violence prevention, and community health.

PRIMARY PREVENTION

  • Targeting the highest-risk units for potential alcohol misuse, we developed and delivered 27 Alcohol 101 trainings to over 500 active-duty members. Ninety-seven percent reported learning something about the potential impact of alcohol, and 86% would recommend the class to others. Led the development and implementation of the 2024-2025 Comprehensive Integrated Primary Prevention Plan, targeting a reduction in potential alcohol misuse in the student pilot population; achieved a 6.1% reduction as of Q3 2024, according to the HeRO report. At the six-month follow-up, 53% reported at least one behavior change related to alcohol use.
  • DECOS admin for 22 squadrons. Coordinated leadership development workshops and seminars with external agencies, such as the Employee Assistance Program and the Army Ready and Resilient Program, to target areas of improvement.
  • Collaborating with SAPR, CS, and OSI to develop and deliver CyberSafe workshops for parents and teens on how to safeguard their digital presence.
  • Managed over $95k in funding to stand-up the first-ever Civilian Resource Center for over 600 Maintenance Directorate civilians. Organized 42 classes and trainings to date - with a 100% reported satisfaction rate; supported 29 distressed employees (domestic abuse, suicidal ideations, child abuse) since Aug 23. 108% increase in EAP usage.
  • Trained suicide and SAPR facilitators, and delivered 49 suicide prevention trainings to over 700 attendees. Conducted fidelity reviews.
  • Facilitated five 2-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training workshops to 77 AF Active Duty, DoD civilians, and Army National Guard.
  • Collaborate with Equal Opportunity and SAPR to deliver professionalism briefs covering interrelated issues such as harassment, discrimination, and bullying in the workplace – 13 sessions and 325 student pilots reached to date. Includes the continuum of harm, sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. Educated attendees on bystander intervention and reporting options.
  • Currently exploring evidence-based peer-to-peer mentoring models to target issues such as workplace hostility, perceived unfairness, and bullying and to help decrease barriers to accessing support services. The aim is to increase social capital to improve organizational culture.

RESILIENCY INITIATIVES

  • Researched and developed "Training the Female Pilot" for all new female students and Instructor Pilots. The program is advocated by the 47 MDG's Healthcare Integrator in support of the Women’s Healthcare Disparity and Health Equity initiative for The Joint Commission.
  • Coordinated LAFB's first Civilian Health Promotion Services visit; 3% participation rate. 37% of cardiac risk screening participants were identified as “at risk” and referred to their primary care physician. Follow-up survey found that 55% of respondents made a positive behavior change as a result.

  • Developed and managed a data-driven outreach program targeting human performance threats impacting readiness for high-risk AFSCs, covering topics such as “Sleep and Depression” and “Oral Health for Shift Workers.” Initial evaluation showed a 90% knowledge increase, 36% behavior initiation, 15% improvement in adequate sleep, 19% enhancement in Sleep Condition Indicator scores, and 16% reduction in excessive alcohol use.
  • Led the Community Action Plan to improve the nutritional environment using Rand's Getting to Outcomes process, social marketing, nudge theory, and choice architecture. Created and implemented the "Food First!" DFAC marketing campaign, resulting in a 22% engagement with materials, 17% prompting to eat more fruits and vegetables, and an 18% increase in salad bar use.

COMMUNICATION AND MARKETING INITIATIVES

  • Developed, coordinated, and managed a comprehensive communication plan in collaboration with A&FRC, Family Advocacy, and ADAPT. This plan included AFN Pacific radio interviews, articles in 51 FW and Stripes Korea, and social media marketing for the 51 MDG Facebook page, achieving an average engagement rate of 9%. Topics covered ranged from “Alcohol and Interpersonal Violence” to “Relationships, Health, and Your Finances.”
