• Assessed patient needs, prioritized treatment, maintained patient flows in Pre and Post Op Same Day Surgery setting.
• Administered medications and treatments, monitoring patients for reactions and side effects.
• Admitted both inpatients and outpatients to the Pre Op holding area, ensuring all paperwork signed, labs drawn, IVs started/functioning.
• Provided care to post op patients phase I and phase II.
• Provided discharge education to patients and family members.

• Provide post op phase 1 care to a variety of specialties including Ortho, Urology, General, trauma, Neuro, ENT, plastics.
• Monitor vital signs, treat electrolyte imbalances, pain, nausea, elevated or lowered BPs.
• Initiate PCAs, titrate epidurals, lab draws PRN via arterial lines or venipuncture.
• Provide Phase II PACU care - discharge instructions with patient and family, coordinating with outpatient pharmacies, follow up appointments, etc.

• Float between Pre Op, Post Op, and OR in an Ambulatory Surgery Center.
• Monitor post op vitals, airway, breathing, pain levels, nausea, drains. Treat as necessary.
• Review post op instructions with patients and family members.

• Coordinated care with MDs, Pharmacies, community resources, family members, and Medicaid for a case load of 20-25 patients.
• Conducted routine supervisory visits of the home health aide and nurse.
• Provided skilled nursing care (i.e. filling medication trays, wound care, physical assessments, vital signs).
• Provided education regarding disease processes specific to patient as well as health promotion education.

• General, Neuro, Orthopedic, Breast, Plastic, Eye, Gynecologic, Urologic, Thoracic, Robotic, Minor Vascular surgery, Cath Lab, IR, and Endoscopy procedures.
• Monitored post op vital signs, initiated PCAs, administered fluids/blood products, drew and sent STAT labs, administered IV medications and reviewed post op orders.
• Evaluated patient care needs, prioritized treatment and maintained patient flow in a busy unit.
• Provided quality nursing care in accordance with ASPAN standards.

• General, Spine, Orthopedic, Gynecologic, Urologic, Thoracic, Robotic, Minor Vascular surgery, Cath Lab, and Endoscopy procedures.
  
• Monitored post op vital signs, initiated PCAs, administered fluids/blood products, drew and sent STAT labs, administered IV medications (pain, nausea) and reviewed post op orders.
• Assisted in evenings with same day discharges and Phase 2 recovery.
• Transported all patients out of PACU to receiving RN and provided nurse to nurse bedside report.

• Conducted Pre Op interviews to ensure all orders had been addressed, consents signed, necessary tests completed, surgical site marked, all patient questions answered.
• In OR - Helped to position patient, assisted with intubation, prepped site, performed time out, provided assistance to Anesthesiologist, provided assistance to MDs and staff in the sterile field.
• Provided direct patient care and assisted the entire surgical team in emergency situations.
• Trained new RN hires.

• Served as both Pre Op and Post Op RN for patients scheduled for EGDs and Colonoscopies in a fast paced outpatient Endoscopy Center (averaged about 40-50 cases/day).
• Provided necessary Pre and Post procedure teaching.
• Started IVs, ensured all pre procedure paperwork was completed.
• Recorded post procedure vital signs and communicated changes in patient status to Physician.

• Monitored post-op vitals, set up PCA when ordered, fluids, administered medications, and reviewed post-op orders.
• Provided post op education, treatments, IV therapy, venipuncture and wound care as needed.
• Communicated changes in patient status to Physician, CRNA, PA.
