I am a construction inspector with over 15 years of experience in the commercial and industrial construction industry. I have worked in the construction services and am experienced in steel repairs, abrasive blasting, coatings application, electrical work, bolting, welding, and will utilize my repertoire of skills and training as an inspector in order to augment my knowledge of the construction industry and expand my field experience. I am a detail-oriented inspector with experience conducting operations unsupervised in a high-volume setting. Extensive knowledge of the inspection of the demolition and construction of structural steel and reinforced concrete bridge elements, which consisted of replacing concrete approach slabs with structural fill, rebar, and Class DP and HP concrete, steel flag repairs, and lead-based removal and coating application in accordance with SSPC standards, as well as the replacement of street and under-deck lighting and all appurtenances. The NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) project focuses on infrastructure upgrades along Atlantic Avenue to enhance safety, and improve efficiency. Key project components include sewer and water main upgrades to improve drainage and water distribution. Installation of new traffic signals and streetlights for enhanced roadway safety. Construction of an elevated median, LIRR vent shaft repairs, adding a bike lane, street repairs, and resurfacing. My responsibilities included conducting daily site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, contract drawings, and safety standards. I monitored the contractors' performance, materials, and assessed work to uphold quality control. I oversaw sewer, water main, traffic signals, and street light installations, ensuring proper execution according to design plans. Addressed structural and safety concerns, documented progress, and communicated findings with project managers. Assisted in resolving construction-related challenges to maintain project efficiency, and minimize delays.

Hugh L. Carey Tunnel, Ventilation System Rehab and Fixed Fire Suppression System Prototype

This project involved the installation of a high-pressure water mist system, including installing water main pipes, assembling and installing valve boxes, spray lines, flex hoses, heat trace, electrical conduits, pull boxes, pulling power and data wires, electrical panels, fire alarm panels, heat detection wires, and building and installing a new pump room. I performed a detailed inspection and supervision of all work activities related to the fire suppression system, including daily reports, inspection of welding, hydrostatic water pressure tests, and commissioning of all the electrical and data systems. In addition, I performed bi-weekly safety meetings, fire protocols, documented all work, submitted daily reports and summaries, created weekly progress reports, kept track of all work completed for payouts through Excel, and documented all testing. At the end of the project, I performed the punch list and final walk-through, and assisted with close-outs and as-builts.

Throgs Neck Bridge, Bronx Whitestone Bridge, Bronx Approach Roadway Civil Improvements

This project involved installing a permanent roadway section, median barriers, new roadway lighting, drainage, and landscaping. I supervised the new roadway lighting. Excavation of duct banks, installation of conduits, pulling conductors, and erection of new light poles. I performed a detailed inspection of the work performed and ensured the contractor completed all work according to the contract drawings and specifications.

Throgs Neck Bridge, Dehumidification System for the Main Cable Splays and Elimination of Water Infiltration into the Anchorage at the Throgs Neck Bridge

This project involved the construction of four dehumidification systems, including redundant equipment, anchorage electrical modification to supply power to the new dehumidification systems, additional lighting receptacles, exhaust fans, replacement of existing reinforced concrete sidewalks at the anchorages at the roadway level, a new catwalk within the anchorages, and access stairways and ladders within the anchorages, cleaning and painting of the main cables, suspended ropes, tower exterior, and interior anchorage steel, furnishing and installing fire replacement of the entire anchorage lighting system, and furnishing and installing access control and fire detection systems for the newly constructed dehumidification systems. My duties were to ensure the contractor completed all work in accordance with specifications and contract plans. I supervised the abrasive blast and coatings applications in the anchorages and suspended cables, and verified that the removal of paint and surface preparations was completed as per specifications and painting standards. I performed salt testing using surface profiles of structural steel, Testex Tape. I verified the coatings applied at the proper thickness by using a Dry Film Thickness gauge for each coat applied in a multi-coat system and documented the findings. Additionally, I supervised the electrical modification to supply power to the dehumidification systems, including installing access control systems, fire detection systems, receptacles, exhaust fans, and lighting for the anchorage access stairways, catwalks, and ladders for the dehumidification enclosures. Supervised the replacement of existing reinforced concrete sidewalks at the anchorages, and the construction of new entrances to the anchorage at roadway level.

Brooklyn Bridge Project, Rehabilitation of Approach Spans and Ramps and Painting of the Entire Bridge

This project involved the rehabilitation of the Brooklyn Bridge, including the replacement of the approach roadway in Manhattan and Brooklyn over the arch blocks; rehabilitation of the Manhattan side ramp structures with widening, deck, and bearing replacements; rehabilitation of the approach steel structures with full superstructure replacement of the York and Main Street structures; and orthopedic deck installation at Franklin Square; seismic retrofitting of the Main Bridge; blasting and painting of the existing steel on the suspended spans and in their entirety. My duties were to ensure the contractor completed all work in accordance with contract plans, specifications, and shop drawings, and all material utilized was in conformance with the specifications. I performed bolt testing, concrete testing, and all testing required for the removal and application of the structural steel painting system. At the end of the project, I was responsible for all final inspections and preparing close-out reports. I also reviewed final quantities and prepared for the closeout of the project.
