• Greet and provide a positive customer service experience to patients and visitors in the Emergency Department.
• Strictly adhere to patient identification protocols to accurately identify patients and register them into EMR.
• Complete patient registration before discharge for the ED and Labor & Delivery unit.
• Update patient demographics, verify insurance, obtain required signatures, and collect payments.
• Provide financial counseling and educate on resources available to patients with no health insurance.
• Monitor the ambulance bay to register incoming patients and inform the ER nurse administrator on duty.
• Support Spanish-speaking customers’ inquiries and insurance policy needs by answering questions regarding coverage, rates, billing issues, and general policy reviews while offering additional products.
• Multitask and navigate multiple computer systems to support a high volume inbound/outbound call center setting.
• Patient-centered mindset: communicate with empathy, a positive attitude, and enthusiastically meet every patient.
• Demonstrate ability to multi-task and function efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet patient and medical provider requests promptly.
• Accuracy in data entry of patient demographics and medical records in an electronic registration system to ensure patient health documentation privacy and security.
