As a Clinical Research Coordinator, I led several clinical trials related to Non-Tuberculosis Mycobacterial Infections (NTM), sarcoidosis, and COVID-19. My duties include recruiting and screening 1000+ patients for enrollment in research studies, conducting informed consent, and proper research documentation on the patient's chart, data entry, and chart review. I learned to use the EPIC system. I have also acquired clinical experience in telemedicine. I also coordinated a project related to sarcoidosis and cancer with the Pathology Department. I could scope granuloma tissue formation along with the pathologist in charge of 90 cases out of 200 sarcoid patients with or without ongoing malignancy.
I provided daily intensive care for newborns. My job responsibilities included: providing morning reports on the rounds and preparing literature reviews and oral presentations.
I gathered clinical histories, performed physical exams, conducted perinatal care and resuscitation of high-risk newborns, assisted premature newborns, and followed up on their care in the ward.
I also completed the following procedures: arterial blood gas analysis, intubation, endotracheal surfactant administration, neonatal resuscitation, umbilical catheterization, managing newborns on mechanical ventilation, lumbar punctures, and providing primary care advice to mothers in the postpartum ward.
I provided pediatric care by conducting admission histories and physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, and discussing treatment plans with consultants and the attending pediatrician. I performed the following procedures: nasogastric tube placement, gastric lavage, and arterial blood gas collection. I assisted in transferring patients to a higher level of care in other cities.
