Work History

Internal Medicine Resident

Western Reserve Hospital
07.2023 - Current
  • During my residency, I have gained a deep understanding of the medical conditions that commonly affect our patient population, as well as the cultural and community dynamics surrounding our hospital. I take pride in being able to diagnose and manage many of the frequent pathologies affecting both American patients and those from diverse ethnic backgrounds. The camaraderie among my colleagues has also been a valuable source of support, especially during periods of intense workload. I believe that learning from professionals who are passionate about their work is essential at the start of any medical career, and I am fortunate to be surrounded by exceptional mentors dedicated to serving a large and diverse community.
  • Streamlined communication channels within the team leading to more efficient coordination during rounds or consultations.
  • Maintained detailed documentation of patients'' histories which aided in providing accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.

Research Coordinator

University of Miami Miller School of Medicine
08.2022 - 05.2023
  • I led a quality improvement (QI) study for the Florida Department of Health and the University of Miami. This QI study improved health care access and discovered health care needs for patients with type 2 diabetes, especially those with uncontrolled disease. The project will help the population of the Homestead area. Gathered data throughout surveys of daily patients and providers.
  • Assist with daily reports after work meetings.
  • I led several PI-initiated studies related to sleep studies and smoking cessation relationships, sleep and metabolism associations, and studies related to imagining comparing the standard of care and new imaging technology for lung disease diagnosis. My duties include recruiting and screening 1000+ patients for enrollment in research studies, conducting the informed consent process, proper research documentation on the patient's chart, data entry, chart review, and coordination with the imaging department and clinicians for patient visits. I used the EPIC system. I have also acquired clinical experience in telemedicine. I contribute to the creation and submission of study protocols to the local IRB and follow up with study modifications and clarifications in the approval process.

Clinical Research Coordinator

University of Miami School of Medicine
06.2022 - 05.2023
  • Experienced in managing and coordinating PI- initiated clinical research studies with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and research integrity. Responsible for ensuring adherence to protocol procedures and maintaining comprehensive documentation of research activities: Oversight of the informed consent process to ensure ethical standards and participant understanding. Administration of study questionnaires and surveys, along with collection and verification of participant medical histories. Timely identification and reporting of adverse events in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Accurate and consistent data entry into safety and data management systems, such as REDcap and Velos. Maintenance of regulatory documentation.

Resident Rotator

Summa Health - ACH
03.2023 - 03.2023
  • During my ICU rotation at a larger institution, I gained valuable insight into the workload and responsibilities of fellows and attending physicians in a high-volume setting. I had the opportunity to perform several procedures, which helped me develop greater autonomy appropriate to my training level. Interacting with peers at various stages - including interns and residents at my level- allowed for collaborative learning and professional growth. This experience also deepened my interest in sleep medicine, as I observed how many disorders are closely tied to poor sleep quality. I am particularly drawn to pursuing a pathway that integrates multiple specialties such as neurology, cardiology, and pulmonary.

Research Study Coordinator

University of Miami Miller School of Medicine
04.2020 - 09.2021

As a Clinical Research Coordinator, I led several clinical trials related to Non-Tuberculosis Mycobacterial Infections (NTM), sarcoidosis, and COVID-19. My duties include recruiting and screening 1000+ patients for enrollment in research studies, conducting informed consent, and proper research documentation on the patient's chart, data entry, and chart review. I learned to use the EPIC system. I have also acquired clinical experience in telemedicine. I also coordinated a project related to sarcoidosis and cancer with the Pathology Department. I could scope granuloma tissue formation along with the pathologist in charge of 90 cases out of 200 sarcoid patients with or without ongoing malignancy.

Observer

University of Miami Miller School of Medicine
03.2021 - 03.2021
  • As an observer in the Pathology Department, I attended sign-out with the attending physician each morning. My duties included the presentation of relevant cases to the attending physicians and residents. I participated in academic activities as well, including Journal Club, and I learned tissue processing, cancer genetics, and biomarkers in the laboratory. I especially focused on biomarkers for the most common type of breast cancer, and its implications in treatment and prognosis for the patient. Now I can have a better understanding of the disease and how these patients are impacted by the diagnosis of the pathologist.

Observer Physician

University of Miami Miller School of Medicine
04.2019 - 06.2019
  • During my ICU rotation, I provided care by obtaining medical histories, assessing the morning status of critical patients, and interpreting laboratory results during rounds. I observed advanced procedures such as central line insertions and endotracheal intubations. By the end of the rotation, I was able to independently present two critical patients. Additionally, I contributed to a quality improvement initiative by interviewing approximately 50 nurses and 20 fellows to identify opportunities for enhancing interpersonal communication and culture in the MICU ward between doctors and nurses.
