Over ten years of political and policy experience in the Senate, assisting me in establishing critical bipartisan relationships on and off Capitol Hill. I am currently Counsel for Senator Tammy Duckworth of Illinois, specializing in energy and environmental policy. I was previously with the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW) for six years, serving as Counsel for four years.
I currently cover broad policy topics including but not limited to, domestic and international energy policies, environmental regulations, environmental justice, oceans, agriculture, fuels, chemical regulations, pollution, recycling, critical minerals, water regulations and infrastructure, animal conservation, tribal issues, space, science and research. I currently assist the Senator with her work on the Commerce Science and Transportation Committee, Foreign Relations Committee and Senate Armed Services Committee, when relevant to my portfolio, and assist with planning and staffing her regular international travel. We have planned and executed several CODELs for the Senator focusing on topics like advanced nuclear and wind energy, plastics, waste-to-energy, water infrastructure, water aid, biofuels and USAID and Army Corps programs.
I have extensive knowledge on environmental justice issues, water, and relevant water regulatory issues, including PFAS and lead. I was contributing author and lead negotiator to Congress's four most recent comprehensive water infrastructure bills, making me comfortable in roles of negotiations, strategy and staff relations.
