My name is Lochlain Hanlon. I graduated from Turner Ashby in 2021. I've had a few jobs since finishing High School. Starting with two different jobs in restaurants, then to climbing hundreds of feet up cell towers. To now, working in a factory. It has been a struggle the past years since graduating to find a sense of purpose in my life. I firmly believe having a career that you love is one of the first steps to finding that purpose.
I'm confident I have some sort of Regional Test Certificate. Although, I have not gotten an email about the Regional Test that I participated in on the 26th. However, I did pass the physical test with a time of 6 minutes and 7 seconds. I am CPR certified. I'm interested in this position because it seems like something I would enjoy. I feel it would help provide a sense of purpose to my work life unlike past jobs. What draws me towards Rockingham County is that it would allow me the opportunity to be trained as a Fire Fighter, but also as an EMT. I'm also interested in the Technical Rescue Team.
Currently in training to be a Spinning Machine Operator. My job is to run and maintain the spinning machine which wraps the thread onto rolls and is the final process in making Lycra spandex thread.
I began working at Hightower in March 2023. I had no prior experience in the industry. After I obtained Climber Competency I began going on project crews doing C-Band DoD installs for US Cellular along with Microwave Hop installs for T-Mobile. After a couple months I was put on a maintenance crew doing maintenance/troubleshooting for both US Cellular on Nokia equipment and T-Mobile on Ericsson equipment (Power/Fiber/Coax/Microwave). I also had the opportunity to upgrade and install new communication antennas for different 911 services. I was awarded Office MVP of the Year for 2023. When I left I was a Maintenance Crew Lead running my own crew.
I began working as a dishwasher working as many shifts as I could. I was eventually trained on how to run every station in the kitchen. I could be relied on to be called on if any position needed to be worked for a shift. Although it was an easy job, it really helped build my teamwork and communication skills.
This was my first job I got coming out of high school. I was a dishwasher. I eventually was trained to be a line cook for Sunday brunch.
