Responsibility of the Health Information Specialist is to ensure the medical records viewed contain the correct patient information and any requested medical information pertaining to the medical chart from our clients.
• Review each page of the chart/progress notes to make sure that the records retrieved are for the correct member and meets predetermined requirements.
• Required to work charts that have been rejected when errors or missing medical information is detected
• Proficient time management, problem solving and analytical skills
Assists members and providers with questions concerning eligibility, billing, claims, general coverage questions, PCP and address changes, and any questions or concerns about Medicare Advantage health and prescription drug benefits. Task can also include scheduling appointments for members, calling benefits vendors , escalating issues for providers , pre authorizations , Cpt code searching .
