Summary

My name is Logan Rollins and I am currently attending Auburn University studying landscape architecture

with a minor in environmental design. My goal has always been to be successful in my career and I have worked hard to ensure that will happen up to this point. I have been fascinated with landscape/golf architecture since about 2019, and since then I have made it my goal to work many landscape or similar jobs that will expand my knowledge by working hands-on. Since I started this process, my bosses have always told me that working hands-on is the best way to learn the landscaping field along with my coursework at Auburn and I couldn’t agree

more. I am a hard worker, trustworthy, motivated, eager to learn, and completely committed to whatever it is I’m working on. I am looking forward to hearing from you guys!

Agronomy

Saugahatchee Country Club

  • Golf course maintenance, I roll the greens, mow tee boxes and fairways, spread fertilizer, buffalo blow the fairways, change cups, move pin locations, and many more miscellaneous jobs around the course
  • Met many golf architects on the job and had opportunities to work alongside them

Plant and Materials Manager

  • I worked in the office with the landscape architects and project manager, as well as the owner of the company
  • My responsibilities are to come in and blow off the nursery and make sure we got our proper shipment ordered for that day
  • Label plants for jobs, Order plants as needed, as well as materials, and shadow the architects

  • I got to shadow the Golf architect, Project managers, and superintendents and was able to work hands-on out on the job site in Rome, Georgia at Coosa Country Club for the summer, along with the golf install crew and the project manager
  • I was also fortunate enough to learn how to run a lot of machinery
  • I got to see how the course was built, especially the greens and bunkers, drainage lines installed, and irrigation

  • I took care of the landscape around the 3 clubhouses (mowing, weed eating, pruning, trimming, blowing, planting, etc
  • I helped maintain the course such as Blowing off bunkers, tees, and greens, buffalo blowing cart paths or fairways, relocating holes on greens, mowing tee boxes, greens, and fairways

  • I shadowed and learned from the head landscape architect and owner of the company in order to learn more about creativity when it comes to designing outdoor spaces and widen my knowledge of plants and landscaping as a whole

  • My responsibility's consisted of, delivering machinery (skid steers, mini excavators, ditch witches, etc.) from job site to job site or returning them to the rental company, delivering and picking up sod and plants needed for the projects from the farms
  • I Worked on the projects with the laborers as I interned the project managers
