Lokho Kotile

Summary

I am deeply passionate about educating diverse learners in urban settings. My journey as an educator has included roles such as a Graduate Teacher Assistant at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), a Middle School Art Teacher, and a Reading Interventionist for Elementary Students. In addition to my teaching career, I am an accomplished artist, having had the privilege of showcasing my work in prestigious galleries like the Soomaal House of Art and the MCAD MFA Gallery. My artistic background has proven invaluable in the classroom, as it enables me to foster creativity and self-expression in my students. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Studies from MCAD, with a focus on Visual Arts, and earned my Bachelor's degree in English from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul. Teaching art is more than just a profession for me; it's an opportunity to help students transform their ideas into tangible creations, allowing them to express themselves fully.
