I love giving back to my community, my church, and the future generations. I love being helpful and kind when I teach or volunteer. It means a great deal to me to be able to impact someone's life for the better. I am dedicated to a path of education and child development. I would also love to continue to grow in my church and help my community.
My friend and I both teach a kindergarten Sunday School class. Each week is different in such a fun way. We give them a coloring sheet related to the lesson they will learn and then I teach the lesson. The kids love the interactive stories that I tell and I try my best to involve them in the story and what is going on. I am open to any questions they may have and am ready to answer in the most understanding way I can. It can be difficult to try to put such a difficult text into simple words. However, it can be done. I am happy to provide them with further knowledge on their beliefs and grow their knowledge on the Bible.
As a member of this church's youth group, I have helped host events and volunteered on mission trips. For example, I have worked in soup kitchens, boxed and packaged diapers for mothers in need, and cooked/served food at church related events. I love giving back not only to my church, but to my community. Being a part of this group has given me the opportunity to do that and make an impact on people in local areas. It has taught me that generosity and kindness are two very important things to have.
During the week of Vacation Bible School, I am in charge of 7-10 children and assigned to a specific age group from 2k-6th grade. I have done both preschool age and elementary age. Both have their own unique joys and challenges, and I have loved working with both. In the few hours we have together, I make sure each child is safe and included in various activities that are presented to them. For example, crafts, snack, music, and my favorite, worship. It is highly rewarding to make a relationship with the kids through the week and teach them more about the Christian faith.
As a member of this exclusive group of women, I have helped with events in my neighborhood and helped in local charities. We have made blankets for less-fortunate children, we have painted kindness rocks and spread then throughout our community, and we help at certain events that happen at the country club. I have helped give out pamphlets at meetings, maps and ornaments at the neighborhood Christmas event, and I have helped host Christmas home showcases. This experience has helped me get to know people right down the street from me and more. It has built my communication skills exponentially.
