I have been dancing since I was about 4 years old.  My parents enrolled me in dance classes so I could spend the extra energy I had after a long, sedentary day of school.  I always loved jumping around and just having fun.  During playdates, I would choreograph little dances with my friends and preform them at the end of the night for our parents.  After doing this for years, my mom finally decided to put me in competition dance.  This is where I truly fell in love with dance.  Dance turned into more than just a hobby or an after school activity.  It became the way I expressed myself. Dance has also taught me Discipline, Commitment, Self-Expression, Creativity, Teamwork, Resilience, Musicality, and Memorization.  Without dance I truly do not believe I would be half the person I am today.
