Summary

I am a responsible, friendly, and musically passionate individual seeking to gain more experience in audio engineering. I've been in a band called Doll Riot for the past 4 years, playing shows almost every weekend for approximately 2 years. During that time, I had some opportunities to set up live sound equipment and mix local bands at small venues.

Work History

Live Audio Engineer

  • Managed live sound for a venue called Tremont Collective, setting up my audio equipment myself with additional help.
  • Also did sound at a house show, setting up my equipment and mixing channels sent through my board.
  • The equipment I used for these two shows was the TouchMix-8 mixer, two QSC main speakers, a monitor I borrowed from a friend, and around 5-8 shure SM 58s. While mixing, I used an Ipad and downloaded the TouchMix app to make my workflow more efficient. I was able to stand in the FOH and mix a perfect sound. I attempted to keep the cable runs as nice as possible, without them being in the performers way.

Live Audio Engineer

  • Managed live audio for the Women of Note 5 event with additional help from a friend.
  • Equipment used for Women of Note: TouchMix 8-16 channel Mixer, two LD Systems Maui 5 Go powered Line Arrays with subwoofers, five XLR cables, and two SE V7 mics. The performers sang into two mics over the tracks the DJ played. The mains were directed towards the audience and the microphones were placed in the middle. For a moment, there were plosives present. We were able to almost eliminate them by adding a low-cut filter to the channel. Since we couldn't have the mixing board on FOH, we placed it on the right side and walked towards the front for sound check. We also taped the XLR cables down in straight lines to ensure no one trips over them.
