Summary

I am seeking this externship to expand upon my experience in the behavioral field. I have worked alongside supervisors and clients across a decade beginning my work with ILP, wherein I helped foster youth who had aged out of the foster care system. As a behavioral interventionist, my role requires me to be flexible, rely on sound clinical judgment, work with other interventionist building solid support teams dedicated to client needs. My experience working in this field over the past 9 years has allowed me to work with diverse and specific populations. My experience serving others in the community has allowed me to work with individuals between the ages of seven and 70, experiencing mental health crises, autism spectrum disorder, behavioral issues, and various challenges. My experience has allowed me to focus on specific populations and areas that I feel I am best suited for. Previous positions in this field have provided me with hands-on experience. I am calm under pressure, wherein my work with clients experiencing challenges (e.g., developmental stages, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. My position as a behavioral interventionist and as a trainee therapist at the CLU Community Counseling Services Clinic, have allowed me to gain hands-on experience managing crisis and to practice and develop my skills as a therapist. I aspire to expand my knowledge to help children, adolescents, and adults. My experience has shown me how deeply I care to work with these individuals and continue learning and developing skills to be a successful MFT.
