Resident Marriage and Family Therapist
- Conduct thorough and individualized assessments to identify root of issues affecting client(s)
- Assist clients in overcoming trauma, finding solutions to difficult problems, and developing healthy coping mechanisms
- Maintain detailed client records tracking client progress meticulously
- Perform crisis interventions when necessary
- Create and implement goals specifically designed to meet needs of clients
- Work with diagnoses including mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, PTSD, substance abuse disorders, and behavioral disorders
- Conduct psychoeducation with support networks to help facilitate care and better understanding of mental illness
- Regularly utilize various assessment tools to identify and confirm diagnoses
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, physicians, attorneys, school counselors, Child Protective Services, and other therapists to ensure continuity of care
- Provide eclectic treatment approach utilizing theories such as cognitive-behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, attachment-based family therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and marriage and family therapy
