Compassionate nurse with a strong foundation in critical care, patient assessment, and teamwork. BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and sedation monitoring experience support safe care across diverse surgical and intensive care settings. Known for patient-advocacy, professionalism, and communication.
In PACU I am able to recover and assess the airway, pain and sedation in a variety of different patients after surgery. Here I can use my critical thinking skills from the ICU and provide detailed one-on-one care to each patient. I do a lot of coordinated care with anesthesiologists and surgical teams to provide the highest level of patient care. This role has broadened my knowledge and the patient population by allowing me to recover patients after all types of surgeries.
As a critical care nurse I assessed critically complex patients, administered and titrated IV drips, coordinated bedside care with many disciplines, educated patients and families, and provided empathy and dignity to critically ill patients.
For many years while achieving my degree I had the privilege of gaining knowledge on our critical care and intermediate care units as a tech. I worked with high acuity patients, monitored vitals, emptied drains, and assisted nurses with cares. This gave me a great amount of knowledge and experience as I bridged to becoming a nurse.
