Currently work in fast paced and busy Level One Trauma Center in Kalamazoo, MI. I have been working in this newly created position for over seven years. In beginning phases of this position I worked closely with purchasing, reps, surgeons and management to build inventory and organize vascular inventory in OR while finding ways to eliminate unused products and find ways to maximize cost savings, including seeking bulk orders from vendors. I order and stock endovascular inventory and supplies and stock as they are delivered. I act a preceptor for all scrub techs and RN's training in endovascular procedures, including teaching how to operate endovascular equipment, angiography set up, for wire, balloon, stent, atherectomy device prep and proper techniques for use. Most recently, I created in-depth PowerPoint going over all vascular procedures as well as tutorial videos for equipment used during vascular cases for all new staff orienting in surgery. I attended meetings and was part of design planning for new Hybrid OR Vascular Room, and am an active member of Vascular System PI and M&M, Vascular Service Line and Vascular M&M. On weekly basis, review of OR vascular schedule is performed and correspondence is made with providers and Unit Coordinator for case planning. On quarterly basis, I set up journal club meetings for staff to get educated on up-to-date topics related to vascular procedures as well as build relationships between providers and vendors.
