Primary Duties: Performs arterial studies such as lower and upper extremity studies, carotid, aortoiliac, existing dialysis fistula evaluations and pre-op measurements, ABI/PVR segmental studies, physiological studies such as TOS tests, ice immersion tests.
General Duties: Creates preliminary reports. Reports critical values to appropriate staff. Ensures efficient patient care and clear communication with involved parties by monitoring proper scheduling, accurately applied testing, report completion. Addresses patient education and concerns. Resolves any day to day issues between hospital departments, inside and outside clinical staff and hospital related subcontractors. Maintains equipment necessary for performance of my responsibilities.
Wrote the original Vascular Lab Protocols, achieved the original Vascular Lab IAC accreditation for the hospital in 2007 and completed all subsequent renewals every 3 years for peripheral arterial studies, carotid studies and physiological testing (ABI/Segmental/PVR).
Periodically proctors students preparing for vascular credentials which includes anatomical, scanning and general vascular instruction over weeks and sometimes months.
All responsibilities related to Vascular Sonography such as peripheral arterial and venous studies, aortoiliac studies, renal and liver studies, carotid ultrasound, pre op dialysis measurements and post op dialysis graft/fistula evaluations. Preliminary reporting. Machine maintenance. Day to day patient care issues for both in and out patients.
