Summary

PERSONAL

After raising three daughters and working off and on as a legal assistant for 20 years, injury struck via several accidents and my disability was determined in 1999. Divorced in 2009, I pursued a passion for serving God's people via a prayer ministry, then relocated to Ohio to attend seminary full time.

EDUCATION:

While pursuing a masters in practical theology, 2011, with a major in Spiritual Formation, doctoral classes were finished and it was time to relocate back to Arizona to complete work on my dissertation (2013). My doctorate was conferred in May, 2020. Seminary associates met prior to graduation, were waiting to join in the creation of a Formational Prayer in Counseling Program as part of a Masters in Spiritual Transformation.

AUTHORSHIP

While working on my Masters in Practical Theology, I received a Masters Certificate in Formational Prayer (an inner healing protocol) from a Professor, Dr. Terry Wardle. Spiritual Formation: The Intersection of Theology and Neuroscience (2020) is a summary of my dissertation and a culmination of my time spent at seminary.

Formational Prayer (inner healing prayer) is a ministry based on the fields of Pastoral counseling, neuroscience and psychology. It is transformative. As a Formational Counselor and Professional educator I possess helpful communication and instruction experience.

PROFESSIONAL

I easily adapt to different classroom settings and subjects. I enjoy a variety of styles and concepts and can work within constraints of school guidelines and policies. I am a life-long learner. Keen observation has prompted change in teaching styles based on student need and/ or subject matter.

With an outgoing personality and a history of professional relationships with students and faculty, I have exhibited maximum work ethic and a professional ability to assess and monitor student progress and developing instructional plans. Fostering students' critical thinking and commitment to a course of life-long learning, while connecting course material to personal and broader situations, as well as current events, is a priority.

A background in counseling and a passion for teaching have also fostered superior project management skills and focus on student academic development and success. I focus on providing a clear understanding of tasks to be completed and skills to be learned.

I am excited to find the team that will become the object of my devoted attention and efforts. I am a reliable and organized employee and would prefer a position that offers an opportunity to learn and grow with professional challenges and would utilize interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skills. Dependability positions me as an excellent candidate for an Adjunct Professor position.

As a 65 year old grandmother, I have learned to work under pressure while maintaining self-care and commitment to personal relationships with God and family. One of the advantages I have over younger applicants is wisdom and a mature spirituality.

Thank you for your consideration.

Legal Assistant

Phoenix City Attorney (Andy Baumert)
Phoenix, AZ
01.1980 - 01.1999

I attended Arizona State University, Center for Executive Development College of Business. In 1985 I received a certificate. After giving birth to second daughter, I worked part-time through temp agencies as well as full-time when my girls attended school full-time. I continued to work temp jobs.

Notably, I worked for Jones, Skelton & Hochuli in the late 1990's as a "floater."

Some of my job duties were billing accounts, managing court and office calendars, interaction with clientele and interfacing with additional legal staff on behalf of clientele.

Worked alongside attorneys, administrative assistants and fellow legal assistants on complex issues and processes.

I often organized files and interacted with court, law enforcement, medical professionals and opposing attorneys.

A quick learner, I was tasked to fill in for those vacationing and for those with medical leave of absence.

Eminent Domain, Family law, Personal Injury and Bankruptcy law were the main foci of my time in the legal field, however, I am capable of navigating my way through most fields, including Intellectual Property law.

Skills

  • Instruction was primarily via online Zoom classes and private meetings At times, students were divided into private break-out groups during online teaching and Assistant Faculty and myself supervised their groups Some presentations involved informational teaching and experiential practices of spiritually formative and neuro scientifically supported activities, as well as limbic exercises Each student was required to meet with myself or Assistant Faculty at least once during class for purposes of ensuring academic and personal success When student was unable to attend classes due to personal, technological or other reasons, student was required to watch recorded sessions of lectures and presentations An open door policy encouraged students to counsel with Professor or Assistant Faculty for academic advisement or counseling Age, gender, social, cultural and denominational differences dictated listening skills I have become skilled at meeting students 'where they are at' academically and spiritually When appropriate, use of personal experiences were use to relieve stress and facilitate online communications
