I have attended 4 wound care clinics in my career.
I am Dr Winslow's office nurse.
My responsibilities are : rooming and assessing patients, assisting him with minor surgeries, removing staples and sutures, packing open wounds, apply Vac dressings, applying unna boots and ace wraps, cleaning and packaging instruments along with running the autoclave.
I also schedule patients for surgery and give them wound care instructions.
I order supplies for the office.
Filled medications for the Aides to distribute to the residents.
My career at the clinic consisted of working in a number of different departments such as ENT, OB-GYN, Surgery, Family Medicine, Walk-In, GI, Pediatrics and Orthopedics from 1985-1987. I roomed and assessed patients . In ENT, I assisted in minor surgeries and did hearing tests. In Ortho, I roomed and assessed patients. I applyed casts and removed them along with applying splints. In Walk-In, I roomed and assessed patients. I applyed splints, packed wounds, assisted with monor surgeries, drew blood and ran tests, did EKG's and gave injections.
