At the end of the 2023-2024 school year, I trip in one of the ESE classrooms. Landing on my left upper arm and shoulder.
Then placed on workers' comp. Due to the fall, I had to have rotator cuff surgery. With physical therapy, the doctor sent me back to work with restrictions. Working in one of the ESE classrooms, a student pulled on the arm that I had surgery on. The results from another MRI. There was another tear to the same shoulder. The doctor gave me more restrictions. Sedentary work and not being in a classroom with students. The school did not have a poison available for me. Workers' comp placed me at the district office, helping in the Gifted ESE department.
The work I was doing scheduled meetings for the GAT and the Gifted ESE staffing specialists. Making the notifications for the scheduled meeting.
Emailing these notifications to the GAT teachers and the students' parents.
I made data sheets with the information for the Saturday meetings was needed.
Worked with the Gifted ESE secretary.
Gathering the information to put together the students' Gifted ESE folders. For testing to see if they qualify for the gifted program.
Going over data, checking if anything was missing or wrong in this information.
Within the Gifted ESE department, I helped out where I was needed.
I enjoyed working at the district. Everyone was welcoming and very helpful.
I'm willing to learn new things, especially if it helps others.
