Student Support

• Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, conflict mediation, academic advising, and classroom lessons; teach social skills and coping skills.
• Effectively evaluate social-emotional needs; utilize findings to develop intervention strategies in collaboration with family and school team.
• Conduct safety assessments utilizing valid tools, identify risk-level, and connect students with resources.
• Assess the biopsychosocial history of students and provide related recommendations.

Staff Support and SEL Curriculum Support

• Support planning and implementation of PBIS and restorative practices.
• Serve as leader of the building PPS team: provide regular consultation on district policies / procedures, interventions, safety concerns, and community-based referrals; facilitate weekly PPS meetings.
• Construct and guide procedures for safety/threat assessments including documentation.
• Manage collection of data on student interventions and modify interventions accordingly.

Family and Community Support

• Maintain consistent communication with parents regarding the needs of students.
• Provide families with appropriate referrals for community-based services.
• Arrange parent workshops/events which offer skills training and strengthen the community.
• Build connections through personalized home visits.
• Partner with community-based providers to assure all parties are working collaboratively to meet student needs.
• Develop and coordinate community expo component at annual open houses.

Attendance

• Support management of an effective school-wide process to increase student attendance.
• Design and facilitate PAWS, an attendance rewards program that increases consistent daily attendance.

• Provided individual, couple, and family therapy utilizing a cognitive behavioral approach.

• Delivered substance abuse prevention and intervention program: provided alcohol/drug education, assessment and referral, counseling, and crisis intervention to students and families.

• Directed outpatient mental health clinic through competently administering grants, developing new programs, and supervising staff.
