The Distinguished Teacher Certificate (DTC) aims to recognize the extra efforts and achievements of teachers of Spanish and Portuguese at all levels of education and to bring these efforts to the attention of their administrators. To qualify for this distinction, AATSP members must accumulate a minimum of 15 points during a school year, selected from any combination of options from any of the following categories: (1) Ongoing professional development, (2) Student mentoring, (3) Service to the AATSP and other professional organizations, and (4) AATSP and other professional awards.
