Primary Responsibilities as a Lead Support Tech:

• Schedule staff for our OPL, Phlebotomy at LSL and Wentzville using Smart-Square.
• Delegate and supervise assignments
• Provide feedback during performance review process
• Ensures daily workflow is completed following established procedures
• Assist Leadership on certain projects
• Keep the department organized and stocked. I ordered phlebotomy and Lab supplies
• Clerical work. Answer phones speak with doctors and nurses about lab results and assist in ordering correct tests.
• Reference lab; Run repots for LabCorp, ARUP and Non Interface
• Scan results into EPIC into the patients chart.
• Gather pricing for Non-Interface lab test and CPT codes
• Perform lab venipuncture
• Train all new phlebotomists on lab draws, OPL, Wentzville location and our processing duties
• Help train ER Employees on obtaining Blood Culture draws
• Keep staff educated on process changes.
• Help leadership with accountability and work process with phlebotomy staff

PACU Duties:

• I assist nurse in the care of our patients. Upon arrival I help with getting vital signs, apply ice pack to surgery site, apply the SCD's
• obtained glucose if diabetic, make sure patient is comfortable by giving them warm blankets and pillows

• while patient is in surgery I clean the bed and put new sheets and make sure full oxygen tank is on the bed.

• I stock the PACU with supplies for our patients. Clean and keep department organized.

• Help RN with transport of patient or help with Discharge . Disconnect from vital sign machine. Disconnect SCD's. make sure patient has all there belongings and Ice packs and wraps.

• From 2019-2021 I did the scheduling for PACU techs.

• Ensured patient safety with strict adherence infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment .
• Expedited patient flow through te ED by effectively managing caseloads, anticipating needs, and allocating resources accordingly.
• Promptly responded to critical situations, assisting in Life-saving interventions life CPR administration ad defibrillation techniques
• Obtained vital signs, EKG's, lab draws, performed POC testing for blood sugars and pregnancy tests.
• Collected urine specimens, performed nasal and throat swabs
• Prepared rooms for procedures: Pelvic Exams, Central Lines, and chest tubes
• assisted physician and nurse with procedures
• Monitored patients comfort and safety. Updated Nurses or Physicians with any updates to patients status
• Preceptor for new hires
