Ensures that business key performance indicators/metrics goals influenced within the Cell are within established performance parameters of DLA Aviation guidelines and customer agreements. Assesses actual process performance against goals and determines or recommends appropriate corrective actions after determining performance barriers, to include root cause analysis of decline in performance.

  • I currently serve as a Customer Support Specialist (CSS) Lead for the DLA Aviation Electronics Group Gyro Support shop. There are a multitude of duties and responsibilities that I successfully perform while actively in this position.
  • I am primarily the DLA face to the customer on a wide range of issues involving both DLA and non-DLA managed items to ensure the timely processing of customer orders and customer access to product, account and order information.
  • I brief senior management on critical backorder reduction efforts and recommend actions to improve operational effectiveness by working closely with DLA counterparts, Air Force personnel and any appropriate service representatives to identify alternative sources of supply, resolve customer issues, complaints, and inquiries. I also provide updated status to customers on requisitioned material, manage maintenance requisitions and submit Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDR) or Product Quality Discrepancy Reports (PQDR) to translate errors upon receiving parts.
  • I am proficient in all currently assigned DLA and Air Force systems that impact the customer's orders. I successfully perform various transactions within these systems to provide tailored customer support, maintain customer data, and responds to customer inquiries. These systems include EBS, D035, D043, LDMS, COPA, ABOM, NIIMS, PNSSR, IES, IGC, ILS, OM Tool, PAD, Fedmall, WebFlis, DIBBS, DCMA, CSM and various other programs and databases.
  • Processing requisitions for local purchases, local manufactures, and emergency buy requests items requested by the maintenance shops are also duties of a CSS that I have successfully performed.
  • I constantly monitor backorder status reports and personally resolve or help lower grade employees resolve problem actions not meeting customer requirements; investigate, coordinate and release Sales Orders that inhibit flow through automated systems; and apply DLA expedite policy and other operating procedures to expedite the actions within supply chains.
  • I coordinate the research and tracking of Stock Transfer Orders (STOs)/replenishment actions to facilitate resolution of backorders or takes action to expedite delinquent contracts having an impact on unfilled orders using established policies/guidance. I also serve as lead POC for all backorders associated with mission capable (MICAP) requirements and awaiting parts program (AWP) backorder management. To avoid work stoppages caused by unfulfilled orders I assure lateral support is provided to inter-service activities and maintains cross-agency relationships, so items are available when needed.
  • I also fill orders for material loans during periods of peak workload. When faced with long lead times or emergency requirements, I will coordinate with appropriate service representatives to identify alternative sources of supply, respond to customer requests, and provide advice regarding changes to sales orders as needed. I review and submit packages for emergency purchases when a local source has been identified for potential procurement, create and route requisition needs for material requiring local manufacture, and local purchase and part number requests to service points of contact.
  • I contact industrial customers to facilitate the resolution of complex and/or widespread customer problems/issues; follows-up to ensure supply and product quality discrepancies are completely/accurately resolved; and, whenever possible, advise customers on how to avoid the recurrence of such problems. I also inform customers of new and existing DLA and non-DLA services and capabilities, established material management policies and procedures and any anticipated changes. I also work on order exceptions including those preventing the release of material. I create or respond to Customer Relationship Management (CRM) service tickets, monitor ticket workload, and analyze/research aging tickets to identify and resolve problems.

  • I gather and analyze data to provide detailed written reports and spreadsheets to assist in alleviating work stoppages and long lead times for customers concerning priority workloads. I also work closely with my lead to research, interpret, analyze and apply a wide range of supply support policies, procedures, regulations and operating procedures. I demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of DSS, FEDMALL, EBS, and other external tools related to order fulfillment used with other supply system ordering applications. I effectively research alternate sources of supply to resolve urgent item requirements that impact the mission, review data and provide updates to customer.
