Lucas Morrow

Since a young age I have always loved being outside and exploring and I have always thought it would be a cool job to have the opportunity to be a summer camp counselor. Whether it was hiking playing sports or just spending time outdoors with friends I have always been drawn to environments where I can move around be creative and enjoy fresh air. Because of this I have always felt that working at a summer camp would be an amazing opportunity. The idea of helping younger kids experience that same sense of fun adventure and excitement that I grew up with really motivates me and makes me want to be part of that environment.

As a student at Wayland Academy I have developed important skills like teamwork communication and responsibility that I believe would make me a strong counselor. I enjoy working with others staying positive and stepping up when needed. I understand the importance of creating a safe inclusive and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable and involved. I am also someone who is patient and approachable which I think is especially important when working with younger children. I am excited about the chance to contribute to a camp community take on leadership responsibilities and make a meaningful impact while doing something I genuinely enjoy.
